Misbehaving Numbers

I'm currently working on a design for gloves inspired by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. And well, I love them. To this point they have come together almost straight from my head, to paper, to wool & needles.

Last night, I began the sizing process. And I was amazed with how the numbers behaved so well. Each calculation seemed to leave me with a nice pretty number to work with. I couldn't have asked for any better. I began to gloat. Pride oozed....at the time I wasn't appalled, but in hindsight, I should have seen the karmic warnings.

Tonight, I began to test knit one of the other sizes. Within 30 minutes, I started to find problems. My numbers, all lined up nice and pretty, had been plotting overnight. They must have been. They thought up ways to thwart my perfect little system.

So I pulled out the calculator again. And the harder I tried, the more my little numbers rebelled. So I wrestled with them, trying to force them to submit. No such luck.

I'm putting these little boogers in time-out. I'll deal with them in the morning.
